Dr. Dieter Drohmann published article on the exemption of fluoropolymers in the planned PFAS regulation in the journal “Stoffrecht”

Dr Dieter Drohmann has published an article on the exemption of fluoropolymers in the planned PFAS regulation in the 4/2022 issue of the German journal “Stoffrecht” (Lexxion).

Fluoropolymers make an important contribution to safety, decarbonization and high-tech development. Due to their chemical composition and structure, fluoropolymers meet the definition of the PFAS substance group.

The substance group of PFAS is currently under strong pressure and is to be regulated via a broad-based substance ban, as some of the low-molecular chemicals concerned have led to significant environmental problems in the past. However, fluoropolymers differ significantly from other PFASs in their properties, which is why these polymers are classified as harmless.
