Polymer registrations under Korea-REACH – Article published in the journal StoffR

Issue 4/2021 of the Lexxion journal StoffR has recently been published and contains an article by Jae-Seong Choi and Yu-Jeong Choi of Chemservice Asia, and Dr Dieter Drohmann, CEO Chemservice, on polymer registrations under Korea-REACH with a focus on requirements and practical approaches for joint registration.

In South Korea, polymers must be registered under the chemicals legislation K-REACH. In particular joint registration poses significant challenges to industry given tight deadlines, the complexity of substance identification, and often divergent interests in joint strategy development and data generation. The article therefore provides an overview of the regulatory requirements, possible implications and recommendations for polymer registrations under K-REACH.
