ICRL 2/2021: Chemservice Team published article on new requirements for MSDS in Korea

Chemservice proudly presents the new issue of the International Chemical Regulatory and Law Review (ICRL 2/2021), published in cooperation with Lexxion. This issue contains an article by Dr Dieter Drohmann, Jae-Seong Choi and Sun-Jong Park from the Chemservice Team on the new requirements for Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) according to the amendment of the Korean Occupational Safety and Health Act (K-OSHA).

On January 16, 2021 the K-OSHA amendment came into force, defining the obligations related to the preparation and submission of MSDS for actors on the Korean market more precisely. The main changes of the K-OSHA amendment are the newly introduced online portal for submitting MSDS to the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor (MoEL) and the stricter rules when it comes to the disclosure of Confidential Business Information (CBI). In their article, the authors provide an overview of the new requirements, mainly on the process of preparing MSDS and submitting to the Korean authority. The new regulations also affect non-Korean manufacturers/formulators; the Only Representative (OR) system has now been established under K-OSHA, too.
