Status of Cosmetics Regulations in Korea – Article published in the journal “Stoffrecht”
The latest issue of the journal “Stoffrecht” (4/2020) contains an article by Doris Peters, Managing Director Consortia Management, and Jae-Seong Choi, Branch Manager Chemservice Asia, on the status of cosmetics regulations in Korea.
The Korean cosmetics market is booming, having prompted the Korean government already in 2000 to pass a comprehensive cosmetics regulation (Cosmetics Act) in order to protect consumers while not interfering with the boom of the cosmetics industry. In their article, the authors explain the basic contents of the Cosmetics Act, which has been revised several times, and focus in particular on the latest revision of April 2020.
